February 13, 2020 -- This winter students in BRIANworks educator Pat's classroom explored an arts-integrated unit linking geography, earth science, creative movement, and visual arts. As part of this unit, students learned about a printmaking process called gelatin monoprinting and used special tools, like gelatin plates and brayers, to produce artworks of the Earth’s oceans and continents. Second graders explored textures, focusing on those textures that characterize the landforms on each continent. Click through the photos below to see some wonderful artworks that were created!
